History of Victoria Stamp Traders
1964 saw the birth of Victoria Stamp Traders when the recent retired founder Ernest Weiner, purchased £300 of stamps and started working from home. This stock was made up into stamp packs and sold to newsagents and toy shops. Since that time Victoria Stamp Traders have grown to become one of Australia’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of accessories for Philatelic and Numismatists industry.
In 1972, VST became an agent for Seven Seas and this relationships remains strongly in place today. 1987 VST consolidated their position as Australia’s leading supplier when they acquired the business of their major competitor Philatelic Wholesalers, manufacturer and distributor of the P.W stamp Album range. Now not just a distributor for major brands, VST became a manufacture. In 1980 VST expanded into publishing and produce the Comprehensive Catalogue of Australia Stamps. In 2014 with Ernest Weiner wanting to retire, the business was sold to VST Australia. VST remains 100% Australian owned and a growing distribution company of excellence and is able to provide personal service and deliver products in a timely manner throughout Australia to the Philatelic & Numismatists market.
